The requirements were clear but ambitious. The custom alcove units were to be suspended 250mm off the floor, creating a floating effect that added depth and openness to the room. The bottom of the units would feature integrated LED strip lighting, casting a soft glow across the floor. Each individual pigeon hole shelf—used for displaying books, ceramics, or collectibles—was to be individually illuminated with uplighting to highlight the contents.
